The Middle Working Class in Today’s Generation

The middle working class often lives in a space that is rarely fully acknowledged, yet it is one of the most essential layers of society. They are not classified as poor enough to consistently receive ayuda, nor are they financially secure enough to fully enjoy comfort or stability. Instead, they exist in a continuous middle ground, working hard every day, fulfilling responsibilities, and sustaining the systems that keep society running.

What You Should Know About the PhilHealth YAKAP Program

As a government employee and public school teacher, I recently updated my service provider under the PhilHealth YAKAP Program so I could fully maximize the healthcare services available to members like us. The process of updating my assigned Konsulta provider was actually smoother than I expected, and it opened access to several medical services that are very helpful, especially for teachers who often have busy and stressful schedules.

After updating my provider, I was able to avail different healthcare services including medical consultations with doctors, laboratory services, and even free medicines for certain conditions. One thing I appreciated most was that I did not need to worry immediately about expensive consultation fees because the services were covered through the program. It was a huge help, especially for routine checkups and preventive healthcare.

What is the PhilHealth YAKAP Program?

The PhilHealth YAKAP Program stands for “Yaman ng Kalusugan Program.” It is PhilHealth’s expanded and upgraded version of the old Konsulta Program, officially launched in July 2025 as part of the government’s push for stronger preventive and primary healthcare in the Philippines.

FREE Download: CSS NC II OHS Assessment Sheet for ICT Teachers and Trainers

Teaching Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) NC II requires not only technical knowledge but also proper implementation of safety procedures inside the workplace and computer laboratory. Before students learn advanced troubleshooting, networking, or computer assembly, it is important that they first understand the fundamentals of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).

To help fellow ICT teachers, CSS trainers, and students, I am sharing my personally created Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Assessment Sheet for FREE. This assessment material was designed to support classroom instruction, competency-based assessment, and student evaluation aligned with the basic competencies found in the TESDA Computer Systems Servicing NC II Training Regulations.

This assessment sheet is one of the materials I personally crafted as part of the workbook and instructional resources I am developing for ICT and Computer Systems Servicing subjects.

Academic and TechPro Electives Curriculum Guides | Elective Subjects in the SHS Curriculum

The Department of Education (DepEd) has introduced the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum to make learning more focused, flexible, and aligned with real-world skills and future careers. One of the major changes in this reform is the restructuring of Elective Subjects, which now play a more important role in shaping learners’ academic and career pathways.

Electives are designed to give students more freedom and relevance in choosing subjects that match their interests, whether for higher education, employment, or technical-vocational skills development.

What are Elective Subjects in the New SHS Curriculum?

  • Elective Subjects (formerly applied and specialized subjects)

Electives are now cluster-based, meaning they are grouped according to fields of specialization rather than strict strands. This allows more flexibility for learners and schools in offering subjects.

The Department of Education (DepEd) has introduced the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum as part of its continuous effort to improve the quality of education in the Philippines. This updated curriculum aims to better equip learners with essential competencies needed for higher education, employment, and lifelong learning.

Nature of the Strengthened SHS Curriculum

The strengthened SHS curriculum is designed to be:

  • Relevant – aligned with current global standards and industry needs
  • Responsive – adaptable to the demands of higher education and workforce trends
  • Streamlined – reduced redundancy and focused on essential competencies
  • Outcome-based – centered on developing critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills

It ensures that learners are not overloaded with content but instead develop mastery of key skills and concepts.

OHS Procedures in Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) | Lesson Content PPT & Short Quiz File

OHS Procedures in Computer Systems Servicing (CSS)

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Procedures are a fundamental part of Computer Systems Servicing, ensuring that all tasks are performed in a safe, organized, and risk-free environment. In CSS, learners are exposed to various tools, electrical components, and equipment, making it essential to follow proper safety protocols at all times. These procedures include identifying potential hazards, using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), maintaining a clean workspace, and applying correct handling of tools and devices.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Procedures are essential competencies in TESDA qualifications, particularly in Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) NC II, ensuring safe and proper work practices in technical environments.

In the DepEd TechPro Track under Senior High School ICT, OHS is also a core foundational skill that prepares learners to work safely, responsibly, and professionally in real workplace settings. It builds discipline and risk awareness, which are critical in any ICT-related field. By practicing OHS consistently, learners build habits that protect not only themselves but also others in the workplace.

Bootable Devices | Creating Bootable Device using YUMI | ICT-CSS Guide | Learning Material in CSS

 Bootable Device

A Bootable disk contains special files required for the computer to boot into an operating system. For example, a hard drive, floppy disk drive, CD-ROM drive, DVD Drive, and USB Drive are all considered bootable devices. However, unless the necessary boot files are stored on the drive, diskette, or disc, the computer sync boot from that device.

So we need to use an application software to store boot files to make a bootable device.

There are many ways to create a bootable device, in this blog we will discuss YUMI.

Yumi stands for (Your Universal multiboot Installer), it is the successor to our Multiboot ISOs. It can be used to create a Multiboot Bootable USB Flash Drive containing multiple operating systems, antivirus utilities, disc cloning – backups, penetration testing, diagnostic tools, and much more.

YUMI works much like Universal USB Installer, except it can be used to add more than one distribution to run Live from your Flash Drive.

For This Demonstration We will create a Windows 10 bootable device, This device will serve as your installer when you want to reformat your computer. Make sure you have your Windows 10. ISO file or you have downloaded using this link:
