Netiquette of a Digital Citizen

A Simple Guide for Students in the Digital World

In today’s generation, almost everything happens online, communication, learning, entertainment, and even friendships. Because of this, being a responsible digital citizen is important. The internet gives us freedom to express ourselves, but it also comes with responsibility.

As students and social media users, we should learn proper online behavior or what we call Netiquette — the correct and respectful way of interacting online. These simple practices can help create a safer, healthier, and more respectful digital environment for everyone.

FREE Download: CSS NC II OHS Assessment Sheet for ICT Teachers and Trainers

Teaching Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) NC II requires not only technical knowledge but also proper implementation of safety procedures inside the workplace and computer laboratory. Before students learn advanced troubleshooting, networking, or computer assembly, it is important that they first understand the fundamentals of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).

To help fellow ICT teachers, CSS trainers, and students, I am sharing my personally created Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Assessment Sheet for FREE. This assessment material was designed to support classroom instruction, competency-based assessment, and student evaluation aligned with the basic competencies found in the TESDA Computer Systems Servicing NC II Training Regulations.

This assessment sheet is one of the materials I personally crafted as part of the workbook and instructional resources I am developing for ICT and Computer Systems Servicing subjects.

Academic and TechPro Electives Curriculum Guides | Elective Subjects in the SHS Curriculum

The Department of Education (DepEd) has introduced the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum to make learning more focused, flexible, and aligned with real-world skills and future careers. One of the major changes in this reform is the restructuring of Elective Subjects, which now play a more important role in shaping learners’ academic and career pathways.

Electives are designed to give students more freedom and relevance in choosing subjects that match their interests, whether for higher education, employment, or technical-vocational skills development.

What are Elective Subjects in the New SHS Curriculum?

  • Elective Subjects (formerly applied and specialized subjects)

Electives are now cluster-based, meaning they are grouped according to fields of specialization rather than strict strands. This allows more flexibility for learners and schools in offering subjects.

OHS Procedures in Computer Systems Servicing (CSS)

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Procedures are a fundamental part of Computer Systems Servicing, ensuring that all tasks are performed in a safe, organized, and risk-free environment. In CSS, learners are exposed to various tools, electrical components, and equipment, making it essential to follow proper safety protocols at all times. These procedures include identifying potential hazards, using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), maintaining a clean workspace, and applying correct handling of tools and devices.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Procedures are essential competencies in TESDA qualifications, particularly in Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) NC II, ensuring safe and proper work practices in technical environments.

In the DepEd TechPro Track under Senior High School ICT, OHS is also a core foundational skill that prepares learners to work safely, responsibly, and professionally in real workplace settings. It builds discipline and risk awareness, which are critical in any ICT-related field. By practicing OHS consistently, learners build habits that protect not only themselves but also others in the workplace.
