Bootable Device
A Bootable disk contains special files required for the computer to boot into an operating system. For example, a hard drive, floppy disk drive, CD-ROM drive, DVD Drive, and USB Drive are all considered bootable devices. However, unless the necessary boot files are stored on the drive, diskette, or disc, the computer sync boot from that device.
So we need to use an application software to store boot files to make a bootable device.
There are many ways to create a bootable device, in this blog we will discuss YUMI.
Yumi stands for (Your Universal multiboot Installer), it is the successor to our Multiboot ISOs. It can be used to create a Multiboot Bootable USB Flash Drive containing multiple operating systems, antivirus utilities, disc cloning – backups, penetration testing, diagnostic tools, and much more.
YUMI works much like Universal USB Installer, except it can be used to add more than one distribution to run Live from your Flash Drive.
For This Demonstration We will create a Windows 10 bootable device, This device will serve as your installer when you want to reformats your computer. Make sure you have your Windows 10. ISO file or you have download using this link:

Here are the 10 Easy Steps on How to Create a Bootable Device using YUMI.
- Prepare your installer. Download Yumi and https://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/. OR Click this to direct download http://www.mediafire.com/file/a01kiq3h81f6uyh/file
- Run YUMI.exe.
- Click I Agree on the License Agreement
- Select your USB Drive, make sure you marked check NTFS Format If you are going to put files more than 4GB.
- Select the Distribution/OS Operating System you want to put on your device.
- Click Browse to locate the. ISO file of your Windows 10 Installer.
- Click Create to start.
- Click YES to perform the creation of Bootable Device. Wait until the software finish extracting the files.
- Click Next to complete the installation.
- Click No and Finish to close the software.
YUMI can be used to format your selected USB drive, but be aware that all partitions on the selected drive will also be deleted. Ensure that you have made a backup of any information you want to keep before using YUMI on any drive.
To add more boot files run the tool again, to test the boot device restarted your PC, setting it to boot from the USB device, select a distribution to Boot from the Menu and enjoy!
That's all there is to it. You should now be booting your favorite distributions from your custom Multi-Boot USB device!
